Acer will release new Predator monitors
Three new Predator screens are announced by Acer. The Predator XB2 series will get 2 new models: the Acer Predator XB252Q and the Acer Predator XB272. Acer will also release world’s first 21:9 curved monitor with eye-tracking with the new Acer Predator Z301CT. The latter even won the CES 2017 ‘Best of Innovations’ award for computer peripherals.
Both new screens within the XB2 series will have a refresh rate of 240 Hz, combined with the NVIDIA ULMB technology they also have a response time of 1 ms. They have a Full HD 1080p resolution and a contrast ratio of 1.000:1. With their ZeroFrame design they are made to be set up with multiple screens. The screens can be adjusted and tilted to give users the viewing angle they want. With the VESA wall mounting system they can be mounted to a wall. Cables can be hidden with a cable clip. The monitors also have two 2W speakers. The Acer Predator XB252Q has a size of 24,5 inch and the Acer Predator XB272 will be 27 inches in size.
With it’s curving and eye-tracking the 30 inch big Acer Predator Z301CT will be a real flagship for Acer. According to the manufacturer it should give an innovative game experience, something that is backed with their CES 2017 award. The Tobii eye-trackin system tracks the user’s eye movements which should give them a bigger gaming experience, camera angles can turn with the player for example. So far more than 45 games support eye-tracking. Next to all this the monitor also has a refresh rate of 200 Hz and a reaction time of 4 ms. The viewing angle will be 278, giving users a big display area. The monitor also can be tilted and will have two speakers of 3 W with DTS sound.
Right now it’s unclear when the Predator Z301CT will be released in Europe and with what pricing will be there. In the United States the curved screen is supposed to be released in February with a $899.99 price tag. In April Acer will release the XB252Q and the XB272 for €629/$549.99 and €699/$649.99 respectively.
