Blow up an ox to devastating effect in Stronghold: Warlords
We’re sure that title got your attention, but did you know it’s even somewhat historically accurate? Firefly Studios is working hard on Stronghold: Warlords, the newest entry in their series of real-time strategy games. This time gunpowder is thrown into the mix, making your army more explosive than ever. Based on the historical sieges of Ancient China, where notoriously herds of oxen with spears fastened to their sides and incendiary fabric attached to their backs were used to break through enemy lines, the Fire Ox has been added to the game. Other newly announced and better-known siege weapons include the Catapult and Laddermen. The gunpower will also be useful for whipping up some deadly traps or Frie Lancers. Stronghold: Warlords will become available on Steam later this year, the exact date has yet to be announced.
