Cristina Scabbia and Mark the Hammer present a metal tribute to the world of Diablo II

To celebrate the arrival of Diablo II: Resurrected, 20 years after the original release, singer Cristina Scabbia and guitarist YouTuber Mark the Hammer have collaborated on a metal tribute titled “Start again”. The lyrics sung by Cristina are inspired by the poem “The Initiate”, originally included in the Diablo and Diablo II manuals, while the rock-metal arrangement created by Mark is inspired by the games’ soundtrack “Tristram Village.”

“I am thrilled to present “Start again”, a song through which we wanted to pay homage in our own way to a historic title, beloved by video games fans,” said Cristina Scabbia. “I believe that rock and metal are two perfect genres for a musical tribute to a dark world like Sanctuary. Working with Mark on this project has been an exciting experience: we both share a great passion for Diablo, and we invite all fans to discover both the game and the song.”

“I still can’t believe I wrote a track for the launch of Diablo II: Resurrected – Diablo was one of my favorite games when I was a teenager!” commented Mark the Hammer. “Working alongside Cristina Scabbia has been incredible. She is super talented and there was a great synergy right away. As a Diablo fan, I have tried to develop a track with the greatest respect to Matt Uelmen’s original composition, while also creating something unique for such an occasion.”

Diablo II: Resurrected is the full remaster of Diablo II and its Lord of Destruction expansion. Players will now be able to experience Diablo II‘s timeless hack-and-slash gameplay with modern graphics and audio taking advantage of modern technology
