Distrust – Released today!
The sci-fi survival game Distrust is now available for PC on Steam, developed by Cheerdealers and published by Alawar Premium. Distrust is inspired by John Carpenter’s movie ‘The Thing’; the game combines survival gameplay with an intriguing story and unexpected plot twists. Distrust features a selection of 15 characters with unique skills and abilities, various mutations, quests and randomly generated maps.
Two survivors of a helicopter crash are stranded deep in the remote Arctic, near an abandoned scientific base. As a player you play both survivors, switching back and forth between them to withstand the harsh climate while scavenging for food and supplies in the mysterious Arctic base. Not only the harsh circumstances threatens the characters: there are horrifying enemies attacking them when they sleep, draining their sanity and sucking the life out of their bodies; but staying awake will get the character exhausted and crippled by harmful character mutations. Once one character’s perception of reality has been twisted, the player needs to switch constantly between the two characters to be able to determine what is real and what is not, while unraveling the mystery of what has happened to the base’s missing crew.
