Fear the Wolves – the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. inspired Battle Royale

Fear the Wolves is a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. inspired Battle Royale game and its first trailer featuring early gameplay was released at E3. See below for the trailer. Although the Battle Royale genre is at its peak with everyone wanting to join in, the veterans at Vostok Games included, Fear the Wolves adds a secondary challenge to the slim odds of surviving.

“Chernobyl died in ages past. The artifacts of humanity are all that remain.”

Players are dropped into a radioactive wasteland where they must scourge items that can protect them from 99 other players but also from the environment surrounding them. Weaponry and gear is scattered across the wasteland, but the most powerful gear can be found in air drops, caches and radioactive areas, making it that much harder to arm yourself to the teeth.

What sets Fear the Wolves apart from other battle royale games such as Fortnite and PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds is the organic spread of radiation as radioactive areas can distort reality whilst the deadly mutated wildlife will pick up your scent wherein the hunter becomes the hunted.

The ultimate goal is not just being the sole survivor by outsmarting opponents and decimating them, but extraction from the dangerous area you’ve just entered by means of a helicopter that accepts only one occupant.

The Early Access of Fear the Wolves begins this summer on PC but it has been said the game will eventually make its way to consoles too.
