Gelatinous: Humanity Lost, coming to Kickstarter on September 16

Indie publisher The Retro Room has announced their partnership with game designer Steven Long to develop and release a new game for the original Game Boy system. Gelatinous: Humanity Lost will allow players to embark on a slimy Metroidvania adventure throughout seven unique areas. Players will begin the game without abilities, and slowly unlock more as they discover ancient secrets and unlock their powers.

The game already has an available prototype for players to try out, with the full release slated to happen before the end of the year. The Kickstarter Edition will include the Game Boy-compatible cartridge and a manual in a retro-inspired box. Alongside this, the soundtrack will also be available for purchase, with a possible cassette edition later on. The standard boxed “Kickstarter Edition” of Gelatinous will cost $50, but early supporters will receive a discount and expedited shipping.
