Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns introduces the Dragonhunter

These are exciting times for Guild Wars 2 players. After ArenaNet’s announcement of the upcoming Heart of Thorns expansion, one of its features quickly started leading a life of its own: that of the Profession Specialisations. Every Profession will be able to grow into its own Specialisation at level 80, the maximum character level in the game.

Mesmers already learned about their future as a Chronomancer last week, and now it is time for the Guardian to learn about its own destiny: that of the Dragonhunter.

Essentially, specialising will enable Guardians to wield the Longbow and alter their unique skill mechanic, namely the Virtues. These are three skills that serve both a passive effect when unused and strong active when prompted. Each of these skills will cause new effects, and together with the Longbow they will finally empower the Guardian in the backline of the battlefield, a great improvement from the near uselessness he now suffers there.

For more information on the Dragonhunter, be sure to check out ArenaNet’s livestream show Ready Up, streaming on the official Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel starting tomorrow, 8 May 2015, at 21h.
