Halo 4 Crimson Map pack is free for select players
A Halo 4 mix up could lead you to getting the first multiplayer map pack for free. Shortly after the release of Halo 4 343 industries and Microsoft announced a promotion, that if you played Halo 4 during the first 2 weeks of its launch you would get a code to unlock all of the specializations.
Unfortunately it seems that people who redeemed the code were able to download the Crimson map pack for free as well. While it wasn’t supposed to happen, 343 and Microsoft are running with it and will allow anyone who participated in the promotion to download the map pack free of charge. The catch is you have to do so before December the 18th which is next Tuesday.
If you received your code and redeemed it you can download the pack immediately. You have to pop in your Halo 4 disc and click the Downloadable Content option on the main menu which brings up the Crimson Map Pack for download, if you’re eligible the map pack will be free.
This doesn’t work if you try to download the pack through the main store interface, only through the Halo 4 disc.
