Morphite – Release date announced!
Morphite, a beautiful sci-fi shooter, will be released on September 7 on several platforms: iOS & PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is currently available for pre-order for PlayStation 4.
The story, set in a distant future where humanity has colonized the far reaches of space, centers around a young woman named Myrah Kale. Myrah’s life takes a sudden turn when a routine mission develops into an interstellar adventure revealing her mysterious past and connection to the coveted substance Morphite.
While flying Myrah’s space ship, players can explore a galaxy full of hand-crafted worlds where the fully-voiced main story takes place, as well as procedurally-generated planets brimming with side quests. You’ll also face random encounters in real-time combat, and be able to trade with other space travelers.
Morphite is a gorgeous FPS game, inspired by classic console games like Ratchet and Clank, Metroid Prime and Turok. The game features stylized, low-poly environments set on distant planets, with diverse landscapes and unique flora and fauna. Exploring is a huge part of the gameplay: apart from following the story, you can earn money for your ship’s upgrades, suit and weapons, by selling biological information about the new organic lifeforms you’ll encounter.
Morphite has been developed by Crescent Moon Games, partnered with We’re Five Games and Blowfish Studios.
