Mortal Kombat 11 reaches 12 million sold
Today, Warner Bros. Games has announced that the latest installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise, Mortal Kombat 11, has been sold over 12 million times worldwide. Since the launch of the first Mortal Kombat game in 1992, the combined Mortal Kombat franchise has sold over 73 million video game copies worldwide. The franchise also comprises three movies, several animated films and multiple TV series. Mortal Kombat Mobile also has over 138 million downloads to date with millions of active players each day.
Mortal Kombat 11 has become the fastest-selling title in the history of the franchise. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, an extended version of Mortal Kombat 11 which released in November last year ,has been honored as the Fighting Game of the Year during the 23rd and the 24th edition of the D.I.C.E. Awards by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.
