Mortal Kombat 11 trailer revealed
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has presented Mortal Kombat 11, the next installment in the franchise. The official reveal trailer gives us a taste of what’s to come; an epic battle between iconic figures and new characters. In this case, the trailer shows Dark Raiden and Scorpion, including a new character who will be playing an important role in the storyline of Mortal Kombat 11. Mortal Kombat 11 is developed by NetherRealm Studios and is expected to release on 23 April 2019 for PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One including Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and digitally on PC.
Mortal Kombat 11 will debut its first gameplay during Mortal Kombat 11: The Reveal, an experimental community festival of Mortal Kombat, taking place in Los Angeles and London on the 17th of January 2019. The reveal will be streamed live on twitch, with a keynote presentation of NetherRealm Studios. The event will also be the first time the public can play Mortal Kombat 11 and tournaments will be held.
With a new Custom Character Variation-system, Mortal Kombat 11 deepens the experience with a creative control over the character rosters. David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, mentioned that by giving the players more creative control they show that Mortal Kombat is an iconic franchise that hasn’t lost its feathers yet. The game also introduces a new storyline, continuing the epic saga in its 25th year.
As of today, pre-orders can be placed for Mortal Kombat 11. The standard edition will be sold for €69.99, whilst the premium edition can be pre-ordered for €99.99 and includes the standard game and the Kombat Pack. All pre-orders will receive the in-game playable character Shao Kahn. Those who pre-order the PS4 or Xbox One editions in select stores will receive access to the beta, which will go live in March.
