The Council Episode 3: Ripples – Review
Get your inner detective ready as you’re in for the next part of The Council. In Ripples, you continue the story of Louis de Richet and his search for his mother. Of course, there is more to it than meets the eye and at the end of the second episode, you were in for a big surprise. Are you ready to dive even further into this thriller?
With this third episode, we’re halfway in the ‘The Council’ series. After the cliffhanger we experienced at the end of part two, you have to try and get your head around these new developments. You get the task to intervene with the plans of Mortimer, as these are going to wreck the world. These will be explained during the conference, which conveniently is starting at that moment. Of course, your choices during this meeting will determine what further info you will get and how you’ll be able to stop this evil. Although things might seem to have cooled down for a while, tensions are rising again and some more dead bodies might turn up.
In this episode, it finally starts to become clear that the previous answers and information is needed if you want to proceed or have right answers. Even more, it might even have its effect on a rather painful situation, so do keep in mind to keep track of your replies. With the new amount of data, the graphics do tend to lag now and then again, which might give you a heart attack when the clock keeps ticking and you’re late for the party. This means you could actually miss out on getting certain info, which will make your teeth grit.
Just like the previous episode, this part consists out of three chapters which will keep you busy for some hours. The puzzles are still present, mostly in the last part of the game so if you dreaded this in the previous instalment, be prepared. At any rate, the story thickens and it actually takes really unexpected turns. It’s best to keep an open mind.
Conclusion
With the third part of this game, we’re able to get deeper into the narrative and you’re in for a treat. With Ripples, it feels like we’re experiencing a turnabout in this story, especially at the end of the episode. Do keep an open mind, as it might get a bit surrealistic but if you enjoyed the previous two chapters, you’ll certainly like this one as well.
