The Council – First episode now available!

The Council is a narrative adventure game, and episode one has just been released on March 13 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This game aims to bring a new twist to the genre, where player decisions and character growth will have a huge impact on the story! The Council has been developed by Big Bad Wolf and is published by Focus Home Interactive.

This fist episode is called ‘The Mad Ones’, and you play as Louis de Richet, whose mother has gone missing on Lord Mortimer’s private island. In this episode you will travel to this island and try to discover your mother’s fate. You’ll participate in a mysterious private gathering of many high-profile guests, including Napoleon Bonaparte and George Washington. You’ll need to influence these people to help you, but each of the guests seems to have their own hidden agenda.

The game uses a unique Social Influence system for character encounters, where you can use skills and limited resources during encounters to gain the upper hand and achieve the desired outcome of the interaction. Players will be rewarded for their knowledge of each character’s psychological vulnerabilities and immunities, as well as their preparations made during prior exploration and investigation. Consequences of  interactions are permanent and may result in persistent physical disfigurements or mental traits that help or hinder the rest of the player’s adventure. You can choose Richet’s skills to match your preferred playstyle: use diplomacy, your research skills, or dabble in the occult to resolve the various issues you’ll encounter.
