The Midnight Sanctuary coming to Switch, PS4, PSVR and Steam this fall

The Midnight Sanctuary, the occult suspense 3D novel from developer CAVYHOUSE and publisher UNTIES, will haunt your Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam from October 4th. VR Support for Steam and PSVR will be announced at a future date.

The people of Daiusu, an isolated Japanese village, fear a mystic woman known as “The Saint”. The same people have built a grand cathedral which was initially built to honor her but has now the purpose of attracting visitors.

Famous historian Hamomuro Tachibana, voiced by the popular Japanese actress Yū Shimamura, is invited to Daiusu to catalog its past and familiarize locals with the outside world. This is where things get weird. She witnesses locals appearing and disappearing, leaping off cliffs, and twisting themselves in half. Are these people dead or are they not? Has the mysterious “The Saint” returned?

The Midnight Sanctuary plays with both reality and the surreal in the storytelling and visuals. Blending static 2D textures and moving 3D models creates a striking visual effect, further enhanced in VR. The visuals used create the perfect background for the mysterious events that are going on.

“The mysteries of The Midnight Sanctuary carry many unexpected twists and turns,” said John Davis, G&R Representative, UNTIES. “CAVYHOUSE has really outdone themselves with the graphics, creating stunning visuals to underline the strange story of Daiusu village.

The Midnight Sanctuary will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam for $9.99 and will support English text localization and full audio and text in Japanese.
