The release of Mafia: Definitive Edition has been postponed

Developer Hangar 13 and publisher 2K have announced that they will not be able to release Mafia: Definitive Edition on the 28th of August. Instead, the release of the much-anticipated game has been postponed. It is now expected to launch on the 25th of September. The cause of the delay is the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which has slowed down development. Hangar 13 and 2K are now pushing the game back a month to ensure that it meets their quality standards.

As a way to apologize to the fan base, as well as ease the wait, a new trailer for the game has been announced. This new trailer will be released in two weeks, on the 22nd of July and it will debut new gameplay footage. Additionally, the official @MafiaGame Twitter account has tweeted a 15-second teaser today, which you can also view below. Mafia: Definitive Edition is a full remake of the original game from 2002, recreated using the Mafia 3 engine. The game is set to release on PC through Steam as well as Xbox One and PS4.
