The Surge announced
Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive have announced the new title of their upcoming action-RPG: The Surge. Next to the title of the game and the logo, some artwork has also been released of one of the environments in which players will be able to explore and battle to their heart’s content.
The Surge takes place in a very dystopian future in which our planet Earth is nearing the end of Her life and the inhabitants of her cities must fight to survive. As technology is progressing, human labour has become obsolete in a lot of places. Equipped with exoskeletons, the inhabitants of Earth moved out of the cities in search for work. The world of The Surge shows us a very dark future in which the progression of our technology, our society and our understanding of the environment will eventually lead to the extinction of the human race.
The Surge uses innovative combat mechanics and an original character progression system based on modular upgrades that are unlocked through combat.
