Toikio Festival – A Japanese festival in Lokeren, Belgium!

Toikio is a new Japanese festival, taking place on 1 & 2 September in Lokeren, Belgium! Don’t hesitate to visit, because the entry for this festival is completely free!

The Toikio Festival focuses on the eclectic and mysterious Japanese culture, and offers it’s visitors many opportunities to experience this! You can participate in many workshops, like a Japanese tea ceremony, origami or martial arts. Or you can browse the Toikio market, where you can find Japanese clothing, souvenirs, cute items, jewelry and Japanese candy! For lovers of food and drinks, you can choose to relax with a with a Japanese beer or sake cocktail in your hand. There will also be a retro arcade featuring some Japanese games like Gigawing, Virtua striker & Street fighter.

Don’t forget to visit the Toikio Synthpop Festival on Saturday evening! Synthetic pop is a unique genre that simply doesn’t get enough well-deserved attention. Stippenlift, MEROL, Innershades and Betonkust will put on a spectacular show for you – and all of this in the rustic atmosphere of an old chapel. Tickets cost 5 Euros if bought beforehand, 7 at the door, and the doors will open at 21:30.

The Toikio festival will be open on Saturday 1 September from 12:00 to 21:00, and on Sunday 2 September from 12:00 to 19:00. The location is: Vagevuur in Lokeren, entrance via H.-Hartelaan.
