Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and IO Interactive are launching Hitman 2

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and IO Interactive have announced that Hitman 2, the sequel to the popular game Hitman, is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Developed by IO Interactive, players are getting their freedom to plan and succeed their missions while using a variety of different instruments, weapons, disguises and techniques.

“We are happy to be working together with the talented team of IO Interactive on the launch of HITMAN 2,” says David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “HITMAN 2 offers an engaging gameplay, new game modes that appear for the first time in the Hitman franchise, and a constant stream of free live content that will surely be appreciated by both the passionate fan base and the new players.”

“It’s an exciting time for IO Interactive and Hitman players all over the world,” says Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive. “HITMAN 2 not only marks a new chapter for us as an independent studio, it also serves as a benchmark for our dedication to deliver unique AAA-experiences. The World of Assassination will continue to challenge you because we will keep extending it and push the limits in new, ambitious directions.”

Hitman 2 takes players on an international adventure across six different locations; Hawke’s Bay (New Zealand), Miami (Florida, US), Santa Fortuna (Colombia), Mumbai (India), Whittleton Creek (Vermont, US) and the mysterious island of Isle of Sgàil (North-Sea). They all have a living environment with different paths to discover.

Hitman 2 uses a variety of new features, upgrades and items including the competitive multiplayer 1v1 game mode Ghost Mode and online co-op mode Sniper Assassin.

The first of many post-launch live content updates includes the upcoming Elusive Target mission with actor Sean Bean in the lead. He takes on the role of Mark Faba, a former MI5 agent who became a freelance assassin. Elusive Target No. 1 with Sean Bean, named The Undying, releases on November 20th 2018 and will last for 14 days.

Hitman 2 contains IO Interactive’s unique view on online 1v1 competition with Ghost Mode. Players will have to use their ability as an assassin while competing against each other, both playing as Agent 47. During the launch, Ghost Mode is only playable on one location; Miami. Other locations will be added after the release.

With the addition of Sniper Assassin for the first time in the Hitman games, there will be a co-op mode. Two players will have to collaborate to eliminate their targets. You can play solo as Agent 47 or in co-op mode with one of the two new agents called Stone and Knight.

The Hitman 2 Standard Edition includes the base game and is available for €69,99 / £ 44,99 / $ 59,99. The Hitman 2 Gold Edition includes the base game, the Expansion Pass (which includes two new coming updates with new locations, new Sniper Assassins maps, new challenges, missions, outfits, weapons) and the Executive Pack. This all for the price of €99,99 / £74,99/ $99,99. Last but not least, there is also the Hitman 2 Collector’s Edition which contains the Base game, Expansion Pass, Executive Pack, and the collector’s pack which includes several collectors items such as an exclusive Steelcase.
