Winds & Leaves swirls onto PC today
Today sees the launch of the PC version of Winds & Leaves, the unique VR experience from TREBUCHET. The Canadian developer previously brought the award-winning Prison Boss VR to headsets worldwide, but their new title is shaping up to deliver an entirely different experience. In Winds & Leaves, players journey across a wide barren world, bringing it back to life by growing forests. The game tasks players with unearthing ancient seeds, awakening landmarks, and gathering knowledge. They’ll need to bring their best skills to stop the looming cataclysm though.
It’s not all gloom and doom though, as players grow their own verdant forests from nothing, creating different species of trees, adapting to various biomes and weather. The ever-changing world can be explored on stilts, a locomotion system designed for walking across the landscapes and climbing up trees. This lets players discover the secrets of the ancient structures that they awaken on their journey. The experience is accompanied by a procedural living soundtrack by award-winning composers Vibe Avenue, which changes based on the world that surrounds the player. Winds & Leaves is available now on PC VR headsets (Oculus Rift, Valve Index, HP Reverb, etc.) through Steam. It will also launch on the Oculus Rift Store early next year. The game launched earlier this year on PS VR.
