Below the Stone digs up Early Access next month!
Apogee Entertainment, in collaboration with developer Strollart, is set to release Below the Stone, an engaging dwarf-themed extraction roguelike, on Early Access for Steam on November 17th. For those eager to get a taste of the action ahead of the Early Access action, a new demo is already available. Below the Stone has already garnered praise, being voted a top-three favorite indie game at OTK Games Expo 2022, and a top-two favorite indie game at TooManyGames for both 2022 and 2023.
In the game, players are invited to venture into procedurally generated caves, encountering unknown risks and rewards along the way. Each expedition necessitates careful calculation, with the option to navigate naturally occurring pathways or carve through fully destructible rock walls to unveil secret dungeons and shortcuts. However, caution is advised, as lost gear in failed attempts cannot be recovered. Strategic gameplay involves balancing progression, resource management, and greed to ensure successful exploration while depositing valuable loot and gear in above-ground banks for future cave dives. As the game’s Early Access release approaches for PC gamers, the anticipation is also building for its future availability on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S in 2024.
