Star Trek Online: Both Worlds Available Now on PC
Gearbox Publishing and Cryptic Studios announced today that Star Trek Online: Both Worlds, the 31st season of their long-running free-to-play Star Trek MMORPG, is available now on PC and will launch on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on March 12, 2024.
Star Trek Online is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online game that allows players to explore the Star Trek universe from within. Originally released in February 2010, Star Trek Online is officially one of the longest-running Star Trek series in the history of the franchise and offers over 250 episodes, over 60 Task Force Operations, and 31 full seasons (major updates) of playable content. Over the last fourteen years, the game has explored some of Star Trek’s most beloved series, including The Original Series, Voyager, Enterprise, Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation, and Picard. Star Trek Online has also welcomed dozens of original cast members to the game, including Leonard Nimoy (Spock), LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge), Michael Dorn (Worf), Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar), Armin Shimerman (Quark), René Auberjonois (Odo), Mary Wiseman (Tilly), Anthony Rapp (Stamets), and many more.
To celebrate the milestone of the 14th anniversary of Star Trek Online, Cryptic Studios will be releasing brand new content that will pay homage to various Star Trek series, in the iconic franchise. This episode includes Star Trek series original cast members reprising their roles as characters in the game, including Nicole de Boer returning as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s Ezri Dax, Garret Wang as Captain Harry Kim from Star Trek: Voyager, and Kipleigh Brown as Captain Kuumaarke from Star Trek: Enterprise. Along with this Star Trek celeb-filled episode, Both Worlds introduces a new Task Force Operation (TFO) that lets players relive one of the Star Trek franchise’s most classic moments, the “Battle of Wolf 359”, fought during the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation. In addition, this new update lets players take on a new in-game event, “King and Collective”, and have the option to jump into challenging Random Elite TFOs with other players.
