The Outlast Trials gets its first major update with a new creepy villain
Indie studio Red Barrels just announced the first major update for The Outlast Trials, their popular multiplayer horror game. The update is titled Project Lupara and stealing the show is a completely new map with its own villain. Franco ‘Il Bambino’ Barbi is a depraved mobster with psychotic tendencies and a gun. That last one is notable since this makes Barbi the first villain in all of Outlast history who wields a gun while chasing you down. Barbi is specifically found on the Docks map, which comes with its own missions. Other stuff added in this update includes new trials – some on old maps – as well as difficulty settings, a lobby minigame, and other small improvements. Check out the trailer below to see everything available. The update drops for everybody on July 16th, and this date also starts a new event centered around the mobster.
