Freedom Wars Remastered set to launch to PC, Playstation and Switch in 2025

The remastered version of Freedom Wars, is set to release on January 10, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Originally launched on the PlayStation Vita, the game takes place in a dystopian future where resources are so scarce that being born itself is a crime and warrants a million-year sentence. These individuals, known as “Sinners,” are born into a world ravaged by pollution and confined to city-sized prisons called Panopticons.

In Freedom Wars, players can reduce their million-year prison sentences by participating in dangerous combat missions to secure the planet’s dwindling resources for their Panopticon. The remastered version introduces several upgrades, including 4K resolution, enhanced textures, 60 fps performance, a revamped weapon system, and additional difficulty levels. Players will wield Thorn weapons, which enable dynamic movement across the environment with their grappling hook functionality. Thorns also grant the player the ability to sever enemy limbs for valuable resources. The gameplay remains true to the original, with combat missions allowing up to four players, either AI-controlled or through online co-op.

In addition to the improved visuals and performance, Freedom Wars Remastered introduces Entitlement Points, earned by volunteering for battles. These points can be used to gain new privileges from prison guards, such as running for five seconds or leaning backward while seated. These guards are fully customizable android companions that can accompany the player during fights, so the player stays under their watchful gaze.

With enhanced features and fan-favorite mechanics, *Freedom Wars Remastered* promises to bring this critically acclaimed title to a new generation of players.
