Rayman Legends going multi-platform
Rayman Legends is set to launch on February 26th exclusively for the WiiU or at least it was.
Today Ubisoft announced that the highly anticipated sequel to Rayman Origins is being delayed till early September. The reason for the delay is Rayman Legends isn’t a WiiU exclusive anymore and has since jumped over to both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The game whose release was a mere 2 weeks away on the WiiU is being pushed back so that all the titles can be released simultaneously.
In the press release Geoffroy Sardin chief marketing and sales officer at Ubisoft said ”We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game.”. It seems as though Ubisoft is rethinking how enthusiastic they are when it comes to the WiiU and the soft launch the system has had. While by no means was the WiiU a failed launch it hasn’t been flying off shelves like both Nintendo and Ubisoft seemed to have thought.
As a sort of apology to WiiU owners who were looking forward to picking up the game on its original release day, Ubisoft announced that an exclusive demo will be coming soon.
