SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy: Skullo Mania, Thief Arthur & MissX DLC – Review
Back in September we took a look at SNK’s new fighting game, which involved a lot of eye candy, but also an interesting cast of characters, be it only a small cast. The developers seemingly picked up on the rather minimum amount of fighters, and are slowly but surely releasing DLC characters to spice up the game. While there is no real additional content to be found at the moment, safe for a few extra leading ladies, we were lucky enough to be able to take a look at Thief Arthur, Skullo Mania and MissX.
Truth be told, this DLC review will be quite short in nature, but it was fun for us to boot up the frenzy fighting game once more. While the original mechanics didn’t have us that captivated to keep playing the game in a more competitive circuit, the game provided us with many fun matches, fun and sexy cutscenes and an overall likeable story mode to plow through. SNK has added three new fighters to the mix, which sadly aren’t free, but might be worth it to take a look at the game once again. We were able to don the costumes of MissX, Skullo Mania and Thief Arthur, all very different in nature. While the characters were placed on a fairly annoying location in the selection screen, we also noticed that Thief Arthur and Skullo are the only characters that don’t have their names in full caps, which we aren’t sure if it was intended to be as such or not.
With the basic mechanics of the game it’s fairly easy to get used to the characters, with Thief Arthur and Skullo being the fastest of the three, and MissX being the somewhat more strong-armed fighter of the pack. Each come with a new finisher and are fun to match up against the old cast. Sadly, Skullo and Thief Arthur don’t come with any extra costumes for you to pick from, and the selections for MissX are also somewhat limited. Luckily you can still try out these characters in the story mode to unlock some additional content.
Conclusion
While not that much can be said about the new downloadable characters, they are in fact a fun addition to the current roster. While it would have been fun to receive these characters as free updates, the characters are still worth checking out if you enjoyed playing with the original cast of characters.
