Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee and Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu have taken the world by storm and while it was outperformed by the recent release of the new Smash Bros, it also made sure a lot of Nintendo’s latest consoles were sold. Many fans did not only opt to buy the game, but also the Poké Ball Plus that came with it, that allows you to catch Mew in your game, as well as store a Pokémon inside the gadget making it so you can train the creature in captivity. Of course, the Poké Ball Plus is a nice trinket, but it also costs a hefty penny, so it’s always a risk when taking it outside. This is where Venom comes in with their protective case for the device. While there is only so much to say about a small storage compartment, we were happy to acquire a sample and let you know what you can expect.
The design of the protective case is actually quite spiffy in all its simplicity. You’ll be treated to what seems to be a Poké Ball itself, with the red top half and the bottom white half. The case is zipper closed and it allows for a carabiner clip to be attached (included in the case when purchased). Other than that, it has no real noticeable features safe for the black ‘belt’ in which you can find the zipper.
You’ll notice that the case is quite hard, but not too hard to make it plastic-like. The solidness of the case makes sure your Poké Ball Plus is well protected, not only when walking around, but also if you accidently drop it on the concrete floor outside. Inside the pocket there’s more than enough room to place the Poké Ball Plus, even when you still leave the strap on. Overall Venom’s product sets out to protect your somewhat expensive gear, and that’s exactly what this product does.
Conclusion
Venom’s Poké Ball Plus Protective Case might not be the cheapest protective case for your Poké Ball Plus, but it’s a very decent one. The hard shell makes sure it can withstand a fair amount of pressure, the simple yet great design is a fun extra feature and the added clip is useful. It’s also fun that the compartment has enough room for the Poké Ball Plus, with the strap still attached to it. If you’re planning on going out much with the Poké Ball Plus, then buying a decent case is certainly something worth considering.
