A Nintendo Switch version for Touhou DANMAKU KAGURA: Phantasia Lost has been announced
Unknown X, the developer of Touhou DANMAKU KAGURA Phantasia Lost, the rhythm game set in the Touhou Project universe, has announced a Nintendo Switch version will join the updated and expanded PC release in 2023. Thanks to Touhou and Danmaku fans, the Campfire Japanese crowdfunding campaign achieved its 15 million yen goal within 30 minutes, meaning enough funding for a Switch version was reached.
In the game, players will have to complete songs by tapping notes to the beat, with the mechanics adapted to PC control schemes. By mastering complicated note charts and earning points for lengthy combos, players will be able to surpass themselves. Additionally, there are special bosses featuring unique challenges available in order for players to unlock new characters and uncover the mystery behind Gensokyo’s destruction.
“We’re honored by the fan support to continue DANMAKU KAGURA in this new form on Steam and Nintendo Switch,” said JYUNYA, founder, Unknown X. “We haven’t just seen support from console and PC rhythm and Touhou fans, but also from players of the mobile version that told us this was the first time they ever paid for a game that wasn’t free-to-play!”
