Another Batman villain takes the spotlight in The Penguin

HBO has been putting forward a lot of great shows set within the DC universe, most of them centered around the iconic caped vigilante known as Batman. Together with Matt Reeves, who also directed the 2022 remake of the movie with Robert Pattison taking the lead role, HBO has now produced a spin-off show titled The Penguin. This show focuses on Oz Cobb’s rise to power and eventual descent into becoming the feared mafia boss with a slightly humorous name. Actor Colin Farrell returns to star as the titular character, reprising his role from the movie where The Penguin also made an appearance. Other leading roles are played by Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, and Deirdre O’Connell. The show, which only consists of this singular season, has eight episodes and was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, with Farrell winning Best Actor for his performance. For those who haven’t watched it yet, The Penguin becomes available on DVD and Blu-ray on March 19th, each option also featuring a decent amount of bonus material.
