Cardfight!! Vanguard Title Booster 04: Touken Ranbu ONLINE 2023
In the past, we have enjoyed other Title Booster packs, such as Record of Ragnarok, Shaman King, and Touken Ranbu, with the latter stepping back into the limelight for this article. The original Title Booster pack won over the hearts of many thanks to its great artwork on the cards, as well as the amazing Touken Ranbu Rare cards that players could collect. For the most part, we see many familiar characters on the cards, but with new effects, they prove to be a force to be reckoned with.
Even though this collaboration Booster Pack has many interesting cards, we actually want to focus on the so-called Touken Danshi for this article. In Touken Ranbu ONLINE 2023, you’ll find many crests, or in this case Touken Danshi. These crests are not the same as those you would find in the Stride Decksets or the Energy Generator crest. In this set, you’ll first have to put a card from your Ride Deck in training via a Set Order that comes into play as the fight begins. This order is the Training Equipment set order. After this, you’ll Ride like always, but you won’t have to discard a card as the cost for Riding. On the other hand, your chosen Vanguards from the Ride Deck will lose all their Auto and Act abilities, making them ‘vanilla’ cards.
In your Ride Deck, you will only include cards up until Grade 2, and after that, when you cannot Ride anymore, you’ll trigger the effect of Training Equipment. This is where things get interesting, as you’ll put the card that was in training into your soul, while you search your deck for a card with the exact same name, but with the addition of Kiwame in the name. You will then Ride the card you have searched, place Training Equipment in your Soul, and then you’ll get a crest that corresponds to the ‘race’ of your chosen Vanguard. The Vanguard will now count as a Grade 3, no matter what grade is seen on the card. This means you’ll have a full-fledged Grade 3 Vanguard thanks to the crest, and all other cards with the same name will also be regarded as this Grade 3 Vanguard. From this point onwards, this newly appointed Vanguard also gains all the abilities of the crest. With all the available crests in this Booster Pack, you’ll be able to make so many different deck profiles. We were impressed with all the decks we could come up with, and with how many of this Booster Pack’s cards worked in different Touken Ranbu deck profiles.
We could go on for a while to tell you why this is an interesting Title Booster pack, but then we’d probably keep you away from opening those booster boxes. The Touken Randu ONLINE 2023 is a lot of fun, especially with the amazing Touken Ranbu Rare cards that are in this specific set. You’ll find familiar faces from the Title Booster 01 collection, but there is also a renewed Over Trigger, Effect Triggers, and of course, many new cards. With a lot of new deck recipes, this is a booster pack worth looking into.
