Discover a GameBoy-style RPG with morbid humor called The Edge of Allegoria
The Edge of Allegoria is a game that will read as nostalgic but has an extremely modern sense of humor. This 2D RPG with classic GameBoy graphics is being made by solo indie developer Joe Picknell, with Button Factory Games and CobraTekku Games helping to work on the ambitious project. You play as a man going through a mid-life crises, who sets out on an adventure. Only to be besieged by magic and monsters. As such, the game promises to combine that retro joy with a bit of a cheeky, morbid twist that’s self-deprecating and appeals to modern audiences. The trailer below demonstrates that, or you can play the actual demo that’s available on Steam right now. The Edge of Allegoria releases fully on December 4th.
