Dragon War Dragunov – Hardware Review
Gaming mice come in all sorts of shapes, with different settings and of course different brands. This time we can off you our opinion about the Dragon War Dragunov, which happens to be a very affordable mouse. Will it still be sufficient to be called a gaming mouse?
The first impression reminds us of the GAMDIAS HADES, which had a fairly simple looking exterior. Dragon War’s Dragunov is completely symmetric, save for the two extra buttons on the left hand side of the mouse. You’ll be able to enjoy a matte, soft finish which also shows a tad more finished than the typical hard plastic mice. Sadly, the soft coating has the downside that it gets dirty really fast. The only extra piece of design, is the clear logo on top of the mouse itself, which gives it a nice extra touch.
When it comes to overall comfort, the Dragunov will feel a lot different than most other gaming mice. You’ll notice the Dragunov is a lot lower than most common mice on the market and the soft coating makes it a tad more pleasant to work with. The fact that the mouse itself is very light only adds up to the fairly different ‘feel’ of the Dragunov.
Dragon War’s Dragunov has two programmable extra buttons on the side and one extra button on top to switch the different DPI settings. The mouse wheel is a fairly sturdy one, that works smoothly and has a decent grip.
The Dragunov comes with four basic DPI profiles. You’ll be able to switch between 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 DPI, with the button on top. Whilst these aren’t the highest settings you’ll find on the market, for most casual gamers as well as fans of certain genres this will be more than sufficient.
Dragunov’s symmetrical design will allow left handed gamers to enjoy the mouse as well. You’ll have to keep in mind that the two buttons on the left hand side will become a tad more unpractical then, if not unusable.
Own opinion
Appearance wise the Dragunov looked fairly simple. Nontheless the matte finish gave it an extra touch, together with the black and blue braided cable, it created a tad of originality.
Most symmetrical mice tend to have a bit less comfort than most other gaming mice, but surprisingly the Dragunov was very comfortable to work with. The soft finish creates a fun feeling, as well as the dents on both sides add an extra layer of comfort. Having a lower base, will mean extra comfort for those with smaller hands and the reduction in weight might prove a bit less straining for those who experience wrist pain easily.
There aren’t that many customization options for the Dragunov, which makes it a fairly standard mouse. You’ll have the easy to access side buttons and the profile button, but other than that you will not have that many extra’s. Which in the end is a matter of what kind of games you play and if you actually need that many extra options.
Conclusion
The Dragunov is a mix of ‘you get what you see’ with a touch of extra comfort. You’ll be able to enjoy a fairly simple mouse that proves to be very smooth to work with. For its current market price you’ve got yourself a simple, fun and affordable piece of gaming hardware. If you add the free mouse mat that comes with the package, you truly have nothing to complain about.

Kinda a shame it doesn’t have a few extra buttons, other than that it looks like a solid mouse.
