Find your info for the first 1UP gaming fair in Kortrijk here!
Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th of February 2019, the very first event of the 1UP gaming fair will take place in Kortrijk, Belgium. The exact locations will be various halls of Kortrijk XPO. The event has fun and informal activities for all ages. Whether you want to meet your favorite upcoming indie developer in the ”Indie Zone”, watch cosplayers, hang out in the arcade with friends and family, or check out the newest augmented and virtual reality, 1UP has you covered. If that’s not enough, and you feel like you need to prove something, you can even enter an e-sports tournament playing Fortnite or Super Smash!
Pricing and times
- One of the best things about the 1UP event is that, since it’s so fresh on the market, it’s very affordable. For only €15 for one day, or €25 for both, you get everything the event has to offer, excluding the Belgian game awards and the conference featuring many professionals from the gaming industry. - Children up to 12 years old can enter the event free of charge.
- You can visit the event on Friday the 15th of February (12 noon – 9 p.m.) and Saturday the 16th of February (10 a.m. – 7 p.m.).
Information about the Game Awards and the 1UP conference
- Presented by comedian William Boeva, both the conference event and the Belgian Game Awards will require separate tickets. First, the conference. It will take place all day long on Friday the 15th of February from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m, so this will start before the general event even starts.
- The conference is aimed at gaming professionals and their future colleagues, as well as people who want to take their interest in gaming to the next level.
- Speakers will include Kate Edwards (Geogrify), Robbert-Jan Brems (Unity), Chanel Summers (VR studios), Dave Voyles (Microsoft), Steven Leunens (4entertainment) and James Deighan (Mega Cat Studios).
- After the conference, on the 15th from 7:30 p.m. onwards, the Belgian Game Awards will be presented. As any traditional awards show, the Belgian Game Awards will award numerous developers and games with categories they are involved in.
