Not too long ago, we took a closer look at several Card Grading Services, and we explained what card grading in general entailed. We concluded that not all services offer the same value for your hard-earned cash, and not all card grading services add value to your dearly beloved cards. Even so, grading as a whole is a great way of preserving key pieces from your collection, and it’s simply cool to present fellow collectors with your shiny graded collection. Today we’ll be focusing on just those two aspects: preservation and presentation. For today’s short review, we’ll be looking at Gemloader’s Premium Universal Graded Card Binder, a premium binder for your premium collection.

To immediately kick off the review with a very positive note: Gemloader’s Premium Universal Graded Card Binder has an amazing design. The embossed logo and the almost marble-like cover look great and give the binder a premium look and feel. The binder itself is quite bulky, but there’s a very good reason for this. We’ll explain that below. You can find different colors available, which is also great if you wish to store different types of graded cards in different binders. For example, you could give the perfect 10s a binder of their own, or perhaps dedicate one to each type of TCG.

Instead of regular pages with pockets that you see in regular binders, you’ll actually have solid plastic trays in which you can place up to four slabs per tray. To do so, you’ll have to take the desired tray out of your binder, place it on a flat surface such as a desk or a table, and then you’ll be able to insert your graded cards. The slabs will be ‘clicked’ into place, ensuring they can’t fall out or even move around for that matter. As it stands now, the pages support nearly all standard slab sizes. From the services we covered, all of the graded cards fit nicely, except for those graded by the now-discontinued Carat Grading. The plastic trays also come with another advantage, namely you can easily store the binder upwards in a bookshelf, as the pages will not start to buckle under the weight of the heavier slabs. The only downside here, however, is the limited space due to the thickness of the actual trays. You’ll be able to store 28 graded cards in the binder, and for those with a very big collection, this means you’ll have to invest a pretty penny to purchase multiple binders. Of course, the beautiful design and different color options soften the blow quite a bit.

Keeping your collection of prized graded cards clean is also no real issue with the Premium Universal Graded Card Binder, as the binder can be completely closed with a zipper. This makes it impossible for dust or other dirt to creep in. It also provides additional security, in case you drop your binder when eagerly trying to show off your collection, nothing can fall out. It’s perhaps not uncommon for premium card binders to have a zipper, but it’s still a nice touch, especially in combination with the already very sturdy design.

Conclusion

If you’re an avid graded cards collector, things probably won’t get better than Gemloader’s Premium Universal Graded Card Binder to store and show off your favorite graded cards. The binder is sturdy, the zipper-closed design keeps dirt out, and the plastic trays keep your slabs securely in place. Of course, the premium price may be a deterrent for casual collectors, but we can still state that this is one of the best storage solutions out there if you also enjoy browsing through your collection. Having your cards graded isn’t cheap, and your prized collectible cards should also get the best possible protection.
