Home Release – The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition
It’s been over thirteen years since the first release of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Since then, four more movies based on the Tolkien lore have come out, all directed by Peter Jackson, all being tremendous successes.
The last one was The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, in which Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and the thirteen dwarfs led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) head towards the Lonely Mountain, to reclaim the Arkenstone, which happens to be guarded by a dragon named Smaug (voice of Benedict Cumberbatch).
Like all the movies before it, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug receives an extended edition, which includes a 25 minute longer cut of the movie, and nine (nine!) hours of bonus material.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition comes out on 12 November, on Blu-ray™, 3D Blu-ray™, DVD! and Digital Download. It’ll be just in time to prepare us all for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which comes out in December. This will conclude the Hobbit trilogy.
