Injustice Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition – Revisited
Injustice: Gods Among Us, the fairly epic fighting game that was released earlier this year brought a lot of your favorite DC characters to life. At first many people were skeptic if the game would bring anything new to the genre, seeing it reminded some to Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Luckily it was clear from the start that Injustice offered a totally different playing experience and brought some refreshing attributes to the fighting scene.

Seeing it’s quite common to release DLC for games nowadays, Injustice was no exception. During the last few months several extra characters were released as well as skins to customize your characters. Of course not everyone is a fan of such DLC and WB games decided to present its fan base with the Ultimate Edition of the game, which includes all of the content.
The main question remains if the DLC is actually worth upgrading your game or convincing the non-believers to get themselves a copy. This can easily be answered with a yes and a no.
Even though there are no real new additions to the overall gameplay, the cast of (anti-)heroes thickens and will provide you with more fighting styles or perhaps a new favorite fighter. Also the extra content will give you the option to customize your fighter with the added skins, whilst these are quite common nowadays, buying them separately will take a bigger bite out of your budget than the bundle.
With the addition of the extra characters you’ll also get extra S.T.A.R. lab missions. These are pretty much again an extra set of challenges for you to fight your way through. Of course these will not be like the standard fights the game throws at you when playing the story mode or the arcade gameplay.
The appearance of the game received no noticeable changes. Luckily the game was already quite detailed. For those who haven’t played the game yet, you could be amazed of what a fighting game could look like. Those who have played the game it will simply be a trip down memory lane and you can expect more of the same.
Each character comes with its own set of sound material and the quality stays true to the original cast of characters.
Note: Sadly the Ultimate Edition will not be released for the Wii U and Xbox One for the time being.
Conclusion
Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition, is still an amazing fighting game and perhaps one of the best ones that came out during the course of the year. Is the game worth buying ? Yes, especially for those who don’t already own a copy of the game or those who simply waited until now. Those who already own a copy of the game might consider waiting for a price drop, seeing the Ultimate Edition launched at a full retail price. Of course, checking out the DLC content you want is also an option for those who already own the original game.
