Journey to the moon today in FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker
Square Enix today launches FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker, the new expansion to the highly acclaimed MMORPG, and announces the new milestone of 25 million registered players. Endwalker carries the story of Hydaelyn and Zodiark to its exciting conclusion, inviting the Warrior of Light to explore new territories, such as the Old Sharlayan and Thavnair, to forge new paths through the Garlean Empire, and even to travel to the moon, all to complete a story that has been years in the making. In addition, Endwalker marks the beginning of a brand new chapter in FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, as this very rich expansion kicks off new adventures and a brand new storyline, building on the foundation laid over the past eight years.
Endwalker introduces a wealth of new gameplay features and content, including the following:
- New Jobs: Sage and Reaper – The Sage is a new healer job – the first since Heavensward – that uses ether-soaked nouliths to protect teammates in battle, fend off enemies and perform magical abilities remotely. The Reaper is a melee DPS with a two-handed scythe that not only allows players to perform brutal, spectacular attacks, but also to summon avatars that help them in battle.
- New Playable Race: Male Viera – Owners of Shadowbringers will be able to create male Viera characters after the launch of Endwalker.
- Increased level cap – The level cap for jobs and classes is increased from 80 to 90. Players can learn new actions and fight new enemies to practice their new skills.
- New, expanded areas – Warriors of Light can explore new areas, including Thavnair, Garlemald, Mare Lamentorum and more, and experience whole new stories along the way.
- New Beast Tribes – Players can meet the Arkasodara, Matanga, who live on the island of Thavnair, and the Loporrits – who seem to have much in common with the curious wanderer from the Eorzean myth called Namingway.
- New content and system upgrades – A new ally for the Trust system, new equipment, new craft recipes and much more.
In addition, Endwalker‘s main theme song is available as a digital download. This song is sung by Sam Carter of the popular band Architects. You can watch the official music video here:
To celebrate the launch of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker and the journey to the stars that players can now take, nine-time Grammy nominee Sia has released a new version of the iconic song “Fly Me to the Moon” in collaboration with Square Enix. It can be seen and heard here:
