Lacuna – A Sci-Fi Noir Adventure Announced!
If you watched Gotham (the series) then this might give you a similar vibe.
Assemble Entertainment and developer DigiTales Interactive are happy to announce the release of their new story-driven sci-fi noir adventure, Lacuna.
The game will be available on Windows PC via Steam on the 20th of May, 2021. In celebration of this announcement, the publisher has a permanent free-to-play prologue demo available on steam, featuring an hour of riveting playtime.
Winning a “Best Prototype” at Game Award Saar and coming in just second for “Best Game” at Indie Game Fest 2019 – Lacuna is a story-based pixel art adventure set in a marvelous 2D sci-fi noir universe that challenges players with extensive dialogue utilization and decisions that have consequences with each step taken. At some point, the game will reflect on the player’s moral compass and self-reflection as players navigate through it.
Players will see the world through the eyes of long-time Central Department of Investigation (CDI) agent Neil Conrad, who has just been informed of a gruesome murder that will be the start of a series of mishaps that will turn the world on its head. Being mindful and having attention to detail will prove helpful as you put this puzzle together piece by piece, revealing the truth behind the main storyline. Once a decision is made, there is no going back. Rushing through towards the end will just accelerate your impending doom. Play your cards right and you might live to tell a tale or two.
Lacuna utilizes normal WASD/controller controls, dynamic conversational choices, story-driven mysteries, optional interactables, multiple unique endings, and a story that marches onward in spite of obstacles.
