Microsoft presents the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition

Today, Microsoft has presented their new Xbox One S console designed purely for digital games called the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. This will be something totally new in this market and Microsoft is the first to take this step.

Over the last few years, more and more games have been purchased in the respective digital stores of each platform. Now this console is specifically designed for those who only like to purchase their games digital. This has some positive and negative side effects. This Xbox One S All-Digital Edition will be bundled with three games, namely Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3 and Sea of Thieves. These are three amazing games that are exclusively available on Microsoft’s consoles.

Two of the three games and the sequel to Forza Horizon 3 that are bundled with this new console are already included in the Xbox Game Pass, so if you get a subscription on this, the bundle is almost worthless. Another disadvantage is that games won’t be in your possession anymore. Instead, you’ll purchase a license to be able to play these games.

This whole concept seems to be a test to check if the world is ready for all-digital consoles with no disc drives. Time will tell how this will work out. This new console will be available for purchase from May 7 this year and will have the price tag of €229 / $249 / £199. You can pre-order this new console now.
