Microsoft Xbox 2015 E3 tech showcase
E3 is not only for games, it is also for tech that makes those games come alive such as the consoles themselves but also other technical goodies such as the making-off of Xbox Live and even more advanced technology such as the new Xbox Elite Controller and Microsoft HoloLens.
Alongside the most-awaited exclusive titles such as Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, a backward compatibility is supposed to fuel the already great games lineup in Xbox history. The Xbox One will be the first and only console which will support the backward compatibility, completely free of charge. It will also include every current-gen features such as screenshots, broadcasting and game recording. For the time being, only a select few hundred classic Xbox 360 games will be available when this features launches this holiday but more titles are bound to come as players can submit which titles they would like to see added.
While Xbox Live is great, at Microsoft they figured that the community could use something more, something even greater. An announcement has been made that you will be able to play with even more friends and with a larger community of players in titles such as Fable Legends and Gigantic by supporting cross-device multiplayer, synching your progress automatically as you move from one device to another. So how does it work? Since the best of Xbox One is coming to Windows, a new Xbox app will bring Xbox Live friends to Windows 10 PC’s and tablets, allowing players to stream their Xbox games to any Windows 10 device, completely free of charge.
The more advanced technology is on the rise with the new Xbox Elite Controller, Virtual Reality and Microsoft HoloLens.
The Xbox Elite Controller is a combined effort to create a wireless controller that offers elite performances and customization while featuring a premium design that guarantees long-lasting quality. It’s a professional controller, designed to take gaming to a whole new level. With this new controller, players will be able to customize everything and anything, from trigger sensitivity to button mapping to game-specific setups via a custom application.
A new partnership has been announced, this time with Valve VR to offer an even more intensive gaming experience by bringing the Xbox One controller and Xbox One game-streaming to the Oculus Rift. This time, the games will truly come alive on your Xbox One or Windows 10 PC.
The Microsoft HoloLens will introduce new ways to experience games with mixed reality. Of course this includes being able to play the full version of Minecraft in holographic 3D. Seems cool? It totally is!
