Mosaique Neko Waifus 4 is a puzzle game where you’ll complete animated images of cute cat-girls. It’s a simple game, but it features a lot of interesting mechanics to engage the player even after you’ve completed all of the puzzles. This game has been developed and published by Lil Hentai Games.
Story
This game doesn’t really feature a story. You’ll have a conversation with the girls, but that doesn’t go very deep. You’ll learn a bit about the girls with each conversational option you choose, but there’s not really a story to pursue.
Graphics
Of course, the graphics are all about the girls! This game features four adorable animated girls, in several outfits and poses. The style of the drawings is very beautiful, with vibrant coloring. The girls look cute and sexy, but not too lewd. There’s no nudity in the base game, but there is a free 18+ DLC available, featuring 14 extra puzzles.
The girls are animated while you solve the puzzle, making the image on each individual puzzle piece move as well. This can help a bit to solve the puzzle, but can be a bit confusing, too.
The UI of the game is simple and clear, all buttons display small icons, and the tutorial will teach you what all buttons are for. However, there is quite an extensive list of skills to choose from, so expect to read the mouse-over text of the skills every now and then.
Many skills also feature graphical effects on the puzzle pieces. It’s useful to know what these are for, although it’s not really necessary to use the skills at all. Most effects are really flashy, which makes the puzzling feel like there’s a lot of action going on!
Sound
This game features a nice, chill soundtrack. Solving the puzzles has a lot of sound effects, both interacting with the pieces, and activating skills. Many skills activate at random, so expect to hear a lot of flashy noises as you solve the puzzles.
The girls aren’t narrated. You’ll have conversations with them, but the text they say will just appear on the screen. However, the emotions on their face will change depending on their response!
Gameplay
Mosaique Neko Waifus 4 is a puzzle game, where you’ll complete animated images of cute cat-girls by rotating pieces of the puzzle until they fit the rest of the image. There are four different girls in this game, and each girl has a few puzzles featuring different outfits, which will all trigger a short dialogue when completed.
The game features a short tutorial, teaching you how the puzzle mechanics work, and showing you each aspect of the game by letting you try all buttons in the UI. This is quite handy, because this game features a lot more functions than you’d expect from a simple puzzle game.
There’s an expansive skill tree helping you solve puzzles. These skills make it easier and faster to solve the puzzles by rearranging pieces so they need fewer turns, fixing mirrored pieces, or even completely solving pieces. You don’t need to engage with the skills at all; many are automatic, and the puzzles aren’t that hard to solve in the first place. The only skill you will need every now and then is the skill that reveals unsolved pieces. However, equipping and upgrading skills will make the process of solving the puzzles a lot faster. You have a number of skill slots you can use (this number increases while playing), for which you can select skills you deem most useful for the type of puzzle you are solving, or you can also opt to equip a basic set of helpful skills for all puzzles.
The basic puzzle task is simple: rotate the square puzzle pieces until it is oriented in such a way that it completes the image of the girl. After finishing a few puzzles you’ll unlock all four cat-girls. Solving a puzzle for one of the girls, will unlock the next puzzle for that girl. Subsequent puzzles will be harder, but as you progress, the girls will generally wear sexier outfits.
The more difficult puzzles have additional puzzle mechanics, like mirrored pieces, which will quickly catch your eye since the animation will look mirrored as well. The harder puzzles are also divided into sections, which can be rotated a whole section at a time. Generally, you’ll first need to experiment with the orientation of these sections, before you’ll attempt solving the individual pieces.
After completing each puzzle, you get to have a bit of dialogue with the animated girl. There are several dialogue choices you can use; choosing any of them will grant you items, which give bonuses on certain skills. Of course, there is a dialogue choice with which you will seduce the girl, but this will not earn you anything special besides an achievement.
After solving all puzzles, there are still a lot of items you can collect. For this, you’ll need to solve the puzzles again and choose different conversational options. There are also lots of achievements to collect. After finishing all puzzles, you can review the images in the gallery, and from here you can also replay the puzzles to solve them again.
Conclusion
Mosaique Neko Waifus 4 is a fun puzzle game that you can complete in a short amount of time, but you can keep on playing to unlock all items and achievements. The images of the cat-girls are real pretty, with vibrant colors and a cute style. They are beautifully animated as well. It’s a simple game, but the skills add more flair to it and makes solving the puzzles faster when you re-play them, so they are useful. However, there are quite a lot of skills, which seems a bit unnecessary. Having a dialogue after completing each puzzle is fun as it makes the girls seem so much more alive! The addition of collectible items and achievements is nice as well as it adds a lot of replay value.
