New videos of The Legend of Korra released
The team at Titmouse has history with The Legend of Korra, having designed the stellar main title for series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko’s previous show, Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender®, from which The Legend of Korra originated. Capturing Korra’s raw energy, personality and force of will in the game’s cinematic sequences required a studio as bold as the Avatar herself, so when Activision Publishing came to DiMartino and Konietzko to ask who they trusted to get the job done, the choice was clear.
The featurette that follows goes into the trenches with the artists at Titmouse for a glimpse at all the work that’s gone into faithfully translating the striking characters and colorful world of The Legend of Korra to a new medium.
To get you up to speed, there’s a two part video series on the production of The Legend of Korra with developer PlatinumGames. Part one is a sneak peek at the game’s mechanics.
Part two dives deeper into the game’s plot and combat systems, beginning with a more personal look at where this adventure fits into Korra’s overall story before closing on an exciting cut of PlatinumGames’ elemental brawling, high-speed running and competitive pro-bending game modes in action.
The Legend of Korra is expected to arrive on the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems via the PlayStation®Network, as well as Windows PC, on October 21; it is expected on October 22 on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system, and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft through Xbox Games Store. This title is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB.
A separate version of The Legend of Korra, called The Legend of Korra™: A New Era Begins, developed as a single-player, turn-based strategy RPG by Webfoot Technologies and also featuring artwork and animation by Titmouse, is slated for release on the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system on October 28.
