Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening announced
Koei Tecmo is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Nobunaga’s Ambition series with the announcement of a new title, which is already in development and planned for release this summer. The series initially began in 1983 and the coming of the Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening will mark the sixteenth entry in the franchise. Back in 2015, we had our hands on other titles from the franchise: Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence and later in 2016: Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence Ascension.
In Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening you will conquer Japan during the turbulent Warring States Period in a virtual strategist historical simulation game. You will experience the life of daimyō who leads his clan during the 16th century and you will need to make the best decisions to ensure a powerful economy, diplomacy and military might to unify the country eventually. To have more insight on the current situation there will be AI officers called retainers that can think and act on their judgment to help guide you in your decision-making. With the diplomatic powers comes the issuing of policies that impacts how landholders will develop their domains. As you can’t just ask nicely for unification you will have to use some force on some occasions. Fortunately, one of the series’ most popular features is making a comeback, albeit in an entirely new form. Fights, known as sieges, will now take place on a single map with variating terrain, this opens the door to new combat tactics and other ways to gain the advantage while attacking or defending.
Nobunga’s Ambition: Awakening will be released on the 20th of July for PlayStation 4, PC and Switch.
