PAST CURE – New gameplay trailer released
The pre-order of the action stealth thriller PAST CURE has been kicked off with two new videos. In the first video Nick Mallinder, animation artist at Phantom 8, explains how players need to master the different skills and abilities in the PAST CURE. It also introduces the main character of the game: Ian and it tells of the horrors he underwent. These horrors have given Ian his special skills which are useful in the game.
With Ian his different skills and abilities, you as a player have the choice how to approach a level. You can choose between a more melee or stealth approach. If you wish to avoid more direct combat, using astral projection to scout the area and disabling security cameras to distract the enemies are the way to go. The manipulation skill helps you evade enemies, execute stealth skills or pull off an amazing headshot for more combat enthusiast players. MMA fighters were motion-captured to help make the melee combat and stealth skill more realistic.
The story of PAST CURE follows Ian who is a former elite soldier that has been tortured for years in dark prisons across Europe. He now lives in his brother’s safe house where he has to deal with the side effects that the experiments left behind. The experiments twisted his mind giving him psychic powers and abilities such as time manipulation and telekinesis but they also broke his grip on reality. Ian is plagued with hallucinations and has a thirst for revenge. He sets out with his brother to find the truth about his suffering and to make his torturers pay. He quickly realizes, as he experiments more with his powers, that they drain his sanity. This pulls him deeper into a nightmare that’s beyond reality.
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of PAST CURE are available for pre-order now. If you pre-order the game now, you will receive the official soundtrack from the Belgium band Seiren.
PAST CURE will be released worldwide on February 2nd, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
