Pearl Abyss’ new infrastructure promises great future for Black Desert
Pearl Abyss has announced that they are building the largest Art Studio in South Korea. The 5000 m2 studio, named the Pearl Abyss Art Center (preliminary name), is set to open in the second half of next year and will act as the new home for advanced technology for the Black Desert franchise as well as new titles. The €22 million investment will give birth to a five-story building in Pyeongchon, Anyang City. It will house various departments, including a new motion capture studio with a height of 9 meters, which will be equipped with 150 motion capture cameras.
This enables the studio to develop more realistic and cinematic games, including not just the aforementioned Black Desert, but also titles like Crimson Desert, DokeV and PLAN 8. The studio’s expansion of its infrastructure doesn’t end there either. The company’s new HQ is under construction in Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town and will also open in 2022. This office will be 15 stories high and will also house 5 subterranean floors.
