Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are 12 hours apart
Nearing its release date, plenty of new information of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon is coming to light. Both games are coming to Europe on 23 November and will be exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS handheld consoles. But enough about the obvious, let’s process all the new information.
A few new Pokémon have been revealed including Jangmo-o, a dragon type Pokémon which uses the scales on its head as a weapon. The second revealed Pokémon is Alolan Raticate, a dark and normal type that lives in urban areas and they are tougher and fatter than the regular Raticate. Alolan Raticate is also the Totem Pokémon of the trial that takes place in Verdant Cavern on Melemele Island in Pokémon Moon. A third Pokémon named Type: Null is a normal type Pokémon constructed to synthesize the strengths of various Pokémon. He is also the partner Pokémon of a newly revealed character, Gladion – the taciturn enforcer of Team Skull.
Aside from Gladion, more brand-new characters were announced such as the members of the Aether Foundation: Lusamine, Faba, Wicke and other employees of the Aether Foundation. The Foundation is doing research on Ultra Beasts, creatures that possess mighty powers and could possibly pose a threat to humans and other Pokémon. These Pokémon are referred to by a code name, such as UB-01, an Ultra Beast that has a body composed of a glass-like substance that is constantly changing shapes.
Dexio and Sina, two characters originally from Pokémon X and Pokémon Y have made a re-appearance in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon and they will give you an item called the Zygarde Cube. You’ll now be able to collect Zygarde Cores and Zugarde Cells which can be found throughout Alola. Collecting enough cores and cells will clear up the road to Zygarde somewhat, making it the most worthy item in the game for now.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will feature a brand-new mechanic called the Poké Finder which allows the player to take photos of Pokémon they find. The pictures you’ve taken will be evaluated and as you become a better photographer, the more features you’ll unlock such as the ability to zoom in.
The most important feature of the two game versions is the time difference. Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are 12 hours apart although both are still tied to the actual time. Pokémon Sun uses the same time as your Nintendo 3DS system does, whereas Pokémon Moon will be set to 12 hours ahead thus making it nighttime while it may be daylight. Different Pokémon can spawn on the same route, depending on the day and night cycle which means that the time difference between both games will give two different experiences. More reason to buy both versions at once.
