Saints Row IV is taking over January 2015
Ever since Saints Row 2, the open world franchise is infamous for the large amount of humour it squeezes into its games. Characters like Johnny Gat and Kinzie Kensington have become Steelport’s greatest icons, and it seems the last-gen consoles just don’t cut it for them anymore.
Therefore, Deep Silver has decided to bring us Saints Row IV: Re-elected, a current-gen version of the most extreme adventure the series has delivered thus far. Battling against the alien overlord Zinyak while stuck in a Matrix-like version of Steelport and becoming powerful enough to reduce Keanu Reeves’s Neo character to a toddler… Did I mention that you’re the US president? Ah, politics.
Even if you have already played through Saints Row IV, you should not keep your eye off of the franchise for too long. The new standalone expansion “Gat out of Hell,” available next month for current and last gen consoles, allows us to play as either Johnny or Kinzie as they descend in to hell to save the Saints’ leader’s soul. This will of course all take place in true Saints Row fashion, combining historic icons with old friends, a talking gun and even a musical number. Interested? Check the trailer below to see our protagonists and Satan himself in true musical fashion!
Both Saints Row IV: Re-Elected and Gat out of Hell are scheduled to be released on 23 January 2015.
