Sandberg USB Webcam 1080P HD – Hardware Review
We have covered many of Sandberg’s items over the years. We have mostly covered their line of eSports products, of which we still have to find a bad one. Some are a bit more expensive than others, but overall the brand supports gamers with a limited budget, allowing them to buy very nice things for their gaming setup. However, the company also provides items for outdoor purposes or normal office environments. Recently we had the chance to try out the USB Webcam 1080P HD, which is a great item for both home and office usage.
Design
When looking at the design of the 1080P HD webcam, we can immediately spot that it steps away from the traditional round design of many other devices on the market. The device comes in a wider and broader case, which serves as a protective shell. Other than that, you have the grated design on the front and the clip-on part, which can also serve as a normal base for a flat surface.
Comfort
Sandberg’s webcam may not be the smallest but it does come with proper protection. The device is in a proper shock-proof case that protects it when it falls down. This can happen on several different occasions, as even though the cam has a clip-on, it doesn’t work properly with every monitor or surface. It’s great that the design and development teams decided on protecting their hardware, as having a proper HD broadcasting device doesn’t come at the low-end of the price spectrum.
The device comes with a base that can be converted to a clip-on for monitors. The base will work properly on a normal desk or elevated platform, and the clip-on will help you attach the webcam to a monitor. The latter isn’t always that convenient, but it works in most scenarios.

Overview
The quality of the image is actually quite impressive, especially when you’re recording stuff offline. Going online and streaming or just broadcasting on a program such as Skype, it all depends on your bandwidth and how much data the program allows you to seep through. It still shows there’s a proper difference between a normal webcam and Sandberg’s HD product, but don’t always expect the highest quality when going online. This has, of course, nothing to do with the actual product produced by Sandberg.
We only noticed a bit of wonkiness when it came to the device’s microphone, which sometimes sounded a bit hollow, or as if you were underwater. This issue didn’t occur that much, but more than often we had it during Skype conversations or other online calling programs.
Conclusion
Sandberg’s USB Webcam 1080P HD might be a bit more expensive than some of the off-brand stuff that’s on the market but it does provide you with quality, a great image, sturdiness and a long warranty period. If you’re looking to spice up your setup with proper work gear for meetings, or even to stream some online content, we can advise this product.
