Step into the fold with Unknown 9: Awakening and prepare for a multi-media adventure
Unknown 9: Awakening is a video game, but it is also the start of so much more. Developed by Reflector Entertainment and published by the ever-famous Bandai Namco, Unknown 9: Awakening is an action-adventure game where you step into the shoes of Haroona (played by Anya Chalotra from The Witcher). Haroona has the peculiar power to enter the Fold, an overlapping dimension where hidden knowledge resides. Naturally, this knowledge is also coveted by secret organizations and could alter the history of all humanity if it falls into evil hands, so Haroona finds herself becoming a target for bad intentions. Unknown 9: Awakening promises an interesting narrative-forward experience with some cool gameplay, but what is especially interesting is that it’s meant to serve as the first entry into a grander fictional universe. Books, webseries, podcasts, and comics set within the same universe that will expand on plot points and characters have already been planned and/or released, and we’re assuming more games will follow. Maybe even a TV show or movie? It’s an ambitious project, though Unknown 9: Awakening can already be checked out right now on Steam and consoles.
