Surfpunk is co-op top-down extraction action RPG madness
Surfpunk is the latest game that tries to pour its formula into a little-used genre: the top-down extraction co-op action RPG. One of the games that people remember mostly for its successor is Helldivers, and it seems really difficult to make a game like that, that will have lasting fun. We have to admit though, Surfpunk already had us with the graphics alone that look like they borrowed the color palette straight out of The Legend of Zelda – The Wind Waker with a bit of grit on top. Play with up to four players to surf and raid the “Fallen World”. You can craft new stuff not only at the base but also during a run. Stuff such as ladders will help you get somewhere higher up. Just look at the contrast between the sunny environment and the dark enemies, as well as the gameplay in the video below.
