Take a look behind the scenes of StarRupture
Creepy Jar, the Polish studio known for Green Hell, unveiled its anticipated title during the summer edition of the PC Gaming Show. Originally named Chimera, the game is now titled StarRupture, reflecting its unique alien world torn by destructive cycles caused by its life-giving star. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the change from Chimera to StarRupture was driven by a desire for a name more representative of the game’s vision, aiding in promotion and global trademark protection. As StarRupture approaches its Early Access PC launch, Creepy Jar plans to release ongoing devlogs, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the development process. These devlogs will cover production milestones, game mechanics, enemies, and more, showcasing the studio’s commitment to transparency with its community, a practice established with Green Hell. You can watch the first of these devlogs below.
StarRupture is a sci-fi survival experience, blending base building, exploration, combat, and resource management. Players become exiled convicts tasked with mining and industrial expansion on an alien planet, and must navigate extreme elemental cataclysms while facing hostile monsters. The game offers both solo and up-to-4-player co-op experiences, challenging players to adapt, mine, gather resources, and build machinery for survival and prosperity. While categorized as a base-building simulator, StarRupture transcends its genre, urging players to stay resilient against environmental challenges and hostile enemies. Combining elements of builders, management, sci-fi action, and combat, StarRupture invites players to harness technology to thrive in the face of adversity and build a prosperous industrial complex on a captivating but perilous planet.
